screaming "peaaaaacee" at a musical performance increases the likelihood of ending war by 62%.... Not

Balkan Beat Box at Black Cat was a fun show - however I found it curious when the band's MC, Tomer Yosef informed us that "this is not a show tonight, this is a party, we are having a party," as I am not usually charged 15 at the door of parties nor commanded to put my hands together simultaneously with my peers at parties.

I hate being "commanded" to do things when I've paid to be somewhere for entertainment purposes. When I was up visiting DC in July, Drew an' them dragged me to some bar (I think it was S7 or summat I don't even remember the name) for the "electronica night" and the second half was just some BAD drums and bass remixed over hip hop "hits". They basically put on iTunes and some idiot MC talked through the whole thing: "If you don't wanna dance, then leave. " "Shake your ass or get the fuck out" and whatnot. I just flipped him off every time and considering I was about six people away from him, he definitely saw me and the club photographer thought it was pretty funny and kept taking my picture whenever I'd flip the MC.
It's like..... even if you are Morissey, your audience doesn't need that shit, and its basically the reason that I hate so much music clubs and bars play nowadays and have NEVER been to a hip hop event. If I want some nutter tellin me what to do while they play shitty music, there's plenty of nu-metal bands out there.

The British humourist Stephen Fry did a hilariously brilliant podgram on not being able to empathize with the human "need" for dancing. It's pretty damn funny, and all I could think about during that shit show. It's Episode 2, Bored of the Dance at http://www.stephenfry.com/podcasts/
He starts his dance rant 6 minutes in, after declaring that Americans DO understand irony.
